Kelly Holmes victory in the Athens 800 and 1500 metres Olympic finals proved one thing that her fans always knew: she’s one of the most talented middle distance runners Great Britain has ever had.
Olympic gold medallist Kelly is no stranger to the winner’s stand with her bonze in Sydney and her Gold at the Commonwealth Games.
Injury has so often intervened to spoil Kelly’s chances of the major prizes yet she has re motivated herself each time, never given up and with tenacity and self motivation has gone on to clinch two of the world’s top Gold Medals.
Her efforts, determination and success has been rewarded by being made a Dame.
