If your a football fan, then you will without doubt know who this man is. The legendary Rodney Marsh was one of the finest footballers this country has ever seen. He made his name in the late 60’s and 70’s with flamboyant performances for QPR, Man City and a long spell playing, coaching and managing in America. In the off season (USA) he returned to play for Fulham with his great pal and another outstanding player George Best.
After his playing career was over he went into the media and quickly became known for his outspoken opinions. He is one of the most sought after TV/Radio Soccer pundits who doesn’t hold back any punches when it comes to talking football.
He joined Sky Sports in the nineties to help develop their football coverage of the Premiership and became an ever present on Sky Sports football shows (Soccer Saturday & Your on Sky Sports). Rodney gained his own special following with opinionated comments which sometimes proved right and other times wrong.
His prediction and bet that Bradford City would be relegated resulted in him having his head shaved in the middle of the pitch when they avoided the drop. All good fun, however when a Tsami joke backfired on air he immediately apologised but regrettably left the broadcaster. Everyone missed Rodney not least the viewers. He was quickly picked up by other stations. Rodney is great value and a terrific speaker.
The feedback we have received from the TV industry is; Rodney is not only a pleasure to work with on all these shows, but he also happens to be one the nicest people you could ever wish to meet. A rarity these days.
